With all the talk people spew on the Internet, especially a popular social network, where real friends are few, real relatives are even fewer and meaningless friends abound. We all can look at our 'friends' list and understand they exist mostly to play games, not much more. Once in a while we meet strangers there who are like minded and kind, but not so often.
I am mostly bothered by people my husband and I do know, not the superficial, not close, friends we share games with. It has become apparent that too many people living in America, who are retired and living in poverty themselves, are able to somehow hate others in poverty. I am flabbergasted to put it mildly.
Well, sometimes people are thrust into poverty through circumstances beyond their control. I was one of those people. I want others to understand how a person who's worked hard most of their life can slip into poverty. I don't want anyone who points fingers at others, to slip into complacency, telling themselves it can never happen to them. It can and does. But never loose sight of the fact that it is the person on your block, the person next door, struggling in silence.
College students struggle, unless they have a rich Mommy and Daddy. The elderly struggle, since most of them have had their pensions stolen and now must live on that shitty pittance we call Social Security. Single mothers struggle, usually not because they had kids, but because some guy refused to buck up and meet his responsibilities. The veteran who laid his or her life on the line so Americans could say: "Support our troops" with their meaningless prattle, struggle as well. These blogs will be telling the story or stories, of those as well as myself, who slipped into poverty through no real fault of their own. I hope you read them with an open mind. I hope you remember what an open mind is.

The poor make war on the poor
Just exactly who makes war?
Generals, Congress, Rich men, of course
Just exactly who fights the actual war?
It ends up becoming the poor against the poor
Is this a poem of 'let's hate the rich?'
No, but you don't have to be anyone's bitch
Harsh words you might say
Well away from killing, plundering and hate you must stay
What have the poor of another country done to you?
Try to see their point of view
Would we like to be preyed upon right here?
For some soldiers to ruin what we might hold dear?
As young soldiers we think war is a grand duty
But all we do is add to someone's rich booty
War and death isn't what you do as a lark
War isn't exactly a walk in the park
But as young people we never listen to the older one
We just think, it's different, so we pick up that gun
Maybe we don't get every gory detail
Explaining war in words is where all words seem to fail
How do you put into words what war is about?
How does a soldier adequately explain what war is about?
I wish you would listen, young man, young woman
Because war is not the noble cause for freedom like you heard
But war's horrors cannot be placed into any word

Finding a nanny?
This is certainly the life!
I was just reading a 'mommy' type blog that was all about how to narrow the nanny search to make it more manageable. LOL
Well this one must have been written for the 'Not So Real Housewives' because never in my life have I been able to afford a nanny. In fact none of my friends could ever afford nannies either. Wow! Taking care of our own kids and households, what a concept that is. We poor Mommies have it all over those rich broads anyway. We never have to worry about our husbands running off with those nannies. We all know, from the Internet and celebrity sites, that nannies and husbands are sex crazed and usually run off with the nanny. We all know they are consummately insane, those nannies and they drive any otherwise respectable husband insane too. I'm sure they all are Sirens in disguise.
So all in all, fixing our own meals, changing our own kid's diapers makes us happier, healthier and good wives and mothers. Well I'm absolutely sure all those chores make us or made us, a lot more tired. Oh to have to make choices like: Which nanny is good enough for my darlings? But lack of a nanny does not make our kids any less smart or any less stunning. Every one of us parents thinks that.
Maybe all poorer, mommies should create their own nanny service and kind of share each others expertise and nanny skills. That would work out great as the poorer moms could hire out as nannies and solve the lack of jobs in 2013. An idea to consider.
